Focus of the Session

  • To what extent is there a legal distinction between ‘SEN units’ and ‘resource’ provision in education?
  • How are these two approaches being implemented in practice and is there evidence of overlap between them?
  • How compatible are they with the ‘presumption of mainstream education’?
  • How consistent are they with the principles of Inclusive Education set out in Article 24 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD)?
  • Q&A session with Matthew to answer your questions
