The training pack is unique in that it draws from the perspective of disabled adults and the Independent Living Movement, helping to create a pathway from school to a supported adult life, in the community, for people who will continue to need one to one assistance throughout their lives. Based on original research with young disabled people and their families, the pack has been trialled with great success in mainstream schools in East London.
I love this pack! I think it is well written,
clear, easy to understand and very readable. I like the emphasis on the facilitation
of relationships and on young people being able to direct their own support
"This is the first training I have done that has helped me understand
my role"
I really liked the very clear re-definition of what independence is

There is an enormous need for this pack in the
market. There are materials which are familiar to those who undertake SEN
training, but they have been brought together with a clearer focus in terms
of developing choice making, enabling and providing a voice for young people
with high level needs
